Some Old-Fashioned Feelings

This should be the longest post of #TheYearToBe___ because I have much to be grateful for.

But (you knew the “but” was coming) like religion, money, and politics, I think it’s a little squicky to string my blessings up on a laundry line in full view of everyone. I know. I know! This is totally weird; it’s just the way I was raised. (I never promised you I wouldn’t be weird.)

I will share with you, however, that I am so profoundly grateful for family and friends who believe in me even when I don’t (especially when I don’t!) believe in myself.

This, I will keep close to my heart this week. I need the extra insulation. And if you catch me humming quietly to myself, it'll probably sound a little something like..."when upon life's billows you are tempest tossed..."
